Hi, I'm Ryan.

I'm searching for my next adventure

I’m currently exploring new opportunities where I can contribute my experience, continue learning, and support both customers and teams in a meaningful way.

About me

I’ve spent the last 12 years working in the web hosting industry, helping people solve problems and keep their websites running smoothly. Over the years, I’ve supported a wide range of hosting environments and assisted customers with everything from server issues and performance hiccups to security concerns and day-to-day questions.
I enjoy working through tricky problems, explaining technical topics in plain language, and making sure people feel heard and supported. I’m calm under pressure and take pride in being someone customers and teammates can rely on.

Experience

2023-2025
Level 3 Support Engineer
A2 Hosting, Inc.

  • Served as a senior escalation point for Linux-based hosting environments, providing advanced troubleshooting and mentorship to Level 1 and Level 2 support staff. Helped build strong foundational knowledge in Linux systems, hosting stacks, and common infrastructure issues across the support team.
  • Designed and implemented advanced internal tools and scripts to streamline troubleshooting workflows, reducing resolution times and increasing overall support team efficiency. These tools enabled faster diagnosis of common issues and improved consistency in how problems were handled.
  • Acted as a critical liaison between the support team and other internal departments, including development, networking, and management. Filed detailed bug reports, followed issues through to resolution, and collaborated on diagnosing complex network, routing, and infrastructure-related problems.
  • Assisted with urgent, high-impact, and sensitive customer situations, maintaining professionalism and clear communication under pressure. Helped de-escalate difficult interactions while working toward effective technical solutions that balanced customer needs with operational realities.

2017-2023
Level 2 Support Technician
A2 Hosting, Inc.

  • Leveraged deep technical knowledge to troubleshoot advanced and escalated issues across a wide range of hosting environments, identifying root causes rather than applying surface-level fixes. Frequently handled cases that required in-depth analysis of logs, configurations, and system behavior.
  • Developed scripts and diagnostic tools that empowered Level 1 support staff to more easily parse logs, identify common failure patterns, and understand system output, reducing unnecessary escalations and improving first-contact resolution rates.

2013-2017
Level 1 Linux Analyst
A2 Hosting, Inc.

  • Provided direct customer support across multiple channels, including live chat, ticketing systems, and telephone, consistently delivering clear, empathetic, and technically accurate assistance for a wide range of web hosting issues.

Taufiq Prasetyo

I’ve had the privilege of working with Ryan at A2 Hosting where he was amazing at fixing all the bugs and issues which helped us maintain near zero server down time.

He has always been very helpful to the team and gladly shared helpful information with the tech support team whenever needed.

I would strongly recommend Ryan as he can prove to be an invaluable addition to any team!

More about me

A kayak strapped to the roof of a car Outside of work, I like to stay busy with hobbies that let me explore, create, and build things. One of my favorite ways to unplug is getting out on the water for kayak adventures. Whether it’s a quiet paddle or a longer trip exploring new areas, being outside helps me reset and clear my head. I enjoy the mix of planning, problem-solving, and spontaneity that comes with every trip.

An image from a drone of a kayak being paddled along a river during autumn I also spend a lot of time creating videos, mostly as a way to experiment and learn. I enjoy figuring out how to tell a story visually, playing with editing techniques, and dialing in audio and camera setups. I’m an FAA-licensed drone pilot and flying drones has become a big part of that process. I love the technical side of piloting, understanding flight controls, and capturing perspectives you just can’t get from the ground. There’s something really satisfying about combining careful planning with creative freedom.

A picture of a partially-completed model of an arbor press When I’m home, I’m usually working on some kind of machining or fabrication project. I enjoy designing parts, measuring twice (and sometimes still measuring again), and slowly turning an idea into something real. Home machining scratches that itch to tinker, solve problems, and learn through doing. It’s equal parts patience, precision, and curiosity and I find the process just as rewarding as the finished result.

All of these hobbies keep me curious and constantly learning, and they’re a big part of how I stay balanced, motivated, and engaged both inside and outside of work.
